Nikki's earliest memories include visiting the Art Institute of Chicago where she was fascinated by the intricately detailed Thorne Miniature Rooms and the complex quietness of Edward Hopper's Nighthawks. She chose to further explore her passion for art through studying painting and printmaking in college. Although Nikki is skilled in various mediums, her favorite is pencil. She enjoys the time and patience required to capture different qualities of light and shadow. As a Chicago-based artist, she attributes much of her inspiration to the diverse architecture found in the city she loves.
